Sakura Flower Viewing

Japan is famous for its flower, Sakura.
The cherry blossom (sakura) is Japan's unofficial national flower.
There are many different sakura tree varieties in Japan,
most of which bloom for just a couple days in spring.

Many tourists or even locals celebrate hanami
What is HANAMI? Hanami is a cherry blossom viewing parties under the trees.
It's usually celebrated in March until early May.
like this :D
Anyway, sakura season is getting closer (p^ ^q)
So I want to share some places in Tokyo that worth-visiting while sakura season for hanami.
(by the way I got the informations from japan_guide, thanks ^ ^)

1. Ueno Park
I really recommend you Ueno Park because it has more than 1.000 trees along the street that leads toward to the Tokyo National Museum. There are also many museum other than Tokyo National Museum, such as National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and the National Science Museum. It's also has Ueno Zoo, Japan's first zoological garden.

Ueno Park also have a pond, Shinobazu Pond. You could rent a boat and ride a boat together. (but many people said that if they rode a boat together as a couple, they will break up eventually)
Ueno Park
Ueno Park is located near Ueno Station and the admission fee is FREE!

2. Koishikawa Korakuen
Koishikawa Korakuen is the oldest Japanese Garden in Tokyo. It's really a beautiful place with a famous landscapes in miniature using ponds, stones, trees and manmade hills to replicate both Japanese and Chinese scenery.
the stone was made to replicate the scenery from urban Tokyo
You could ride a train from Oedo Subway Line and get off at Iidabashi Station. The admission fee is 300 yen.

3. Yoyogi Park
Yoyogi Park is one of the largest city parks in Tokyo with ponds and forested areas. It's a great place for jogging, picnicking and other outdoor activities. Yoyogi Park is known for its ginko tree forest, which turns intensely golden in autumn.
even though Yoyogi Park has relatively few sakura trees, it makes for a nice hanami spot
Yoyogi Park is only 5 minutes walk from Harajuku Station on Yamanote Line. The admission fee is free.

4. Shinjuku Gyoen
I really love Shinjuku Gyoen because I watch "Garden of Words" that have the background of Shinjuku Gyoen for the movies. (the top is the animated one, the bottom is the pictures of the real Shinjuku Gyoen)

Shinjuku Gyoen has 3 different types of gardens:

- Japanese Landscape Garden, featuring large ponds dotted with islands and bridges.

- French Garden, featuring wide, open lawns surrounded by flowering cherry trees.

- English Landscape Garden, consists of forested areas, lawns and several structures.

WOW, Amazing right?

So, Shinjuku Gyoen is the most popular park because of the beauty of the parks. Shinjuku Gyoen is the best places in the city to see Cherry Blossoms and also to do a Hanami Party.
Shinjuku Gyoen
Shinjuku Gyoen is located near Shinjuku Station and the admission fee is 200 yen.

Hope you like it <3
